Environment Awards 2025: Now open

We are pleased to announce that the Environment Awards 2025 are now open for entries.

The WFRA Environment Awards are an opportunity to support and celebrate the work of our fell running community across Wales and the Borders in addressing climate change, sustainability and environmental issues and encourage further progress. We have two categories of awards available, with a winner for each:

  • Race Organiser
  • Individual

Tell us who inspires you!

We want to know who inspires you and which of your peers you think are doing great work in this area, therefore you cannot nominate yourself – we would like you to nominate others. This must relate to races or activities between 1st January 2025 and 31st December 2025.

Race Organiser nominations will be judged against three criteria:

  1. Action
  2. Impact
  3. Engagement

Individual nominations will be judged against the four pillars from The Green Runners:

  1. How you move
  2. How you kit up
  3. How you eat
  4. How you speak out

How do I nominate someone? What are you looking for? Is the person I want to nominate eligible for the awards?

Please read the nominations guidance before emailing us. We look forward to receiving your nominations!

The deadline for submissions is 23:59 Friday 9th January 2026.
